The world turned upside down, and I did too. My life has been a bit crazy over the past…5 months? 6??? The last time I wrote was back in February and I have been pretty silent since.

Valentines Day, the holiday I feel as if everyone loves to hate. I myself have had a love hate relationship with the day but have decided that this year I am embracing it. Love is something we could all use a little more of. I’m not talking about mushy romantic love, boxes of chocolates, flowers and over the top gifts (no hate, I love these things and chocolate is one of my major food groups). The love I’m talking about is the love for those around us, love in every day gestures, love for friends and family. I think we could all do with a little more love.

So I have been working on a couple ideas that I am going to be sharing over the next few weeks! I am working on things that I want to turn into patterns, I have been working on prints to sell in my Etsy shop, and I have been brainstorming ideas of new things I can offer! This weekend I went to NYC to celebrate my 26th birthday. I got to live out my childhood dream of staying at The Plaza, visiting a museum, seeing a play and eating yummy food. Overall it was a truly magical weekend. On my train home from NYC I had the privilege to sit next to a very precocious six-year-old. She was very inquisitive and I was able to have a very fun interaction with this young girl and her mother. 

As the year began I set out some goals for myself, as I am sure most of you reading this do. This is something I have always done but this year is different for me, this year I am beginning things as my own boss. As I launched this website almost a month ago I am excited for the prospects the coming year offers, I feel so lucky to be starting it off with a new spurt of creativity and motivation. I wish to share things that I am working on, ideas and projects I hope to bring to life and offer to others.

 I consider myself lucky because my birthday falls just after the new year so I get to begin a new year of my life along with the start of a new year.

Am I an artist yet? This is a question I have asked myself for nearly my entire life. I would like to say yes but I will let you decide. 

So this year I decided to do a thing. I made art that became a calendar!

I think this space really reflects my personality most fully because the art pieces I've selected to hang are some of my favorites. One is above my bed, a watercolor of a leopard.

If you have noticed anything about this blog/website/creative space it is that I am new to this game. I do not consider myself a blogger, but hey, I’m trying! I most definitely do not consider myself a travel blogger.
