new year, same me

Dear reader,

As the year began I set out some goals for myself, as I am sure most of you reading this do. This is something I have always done but this year is different for me, this year I am beginning things as my own boss. As I launched this website almost a month ago I am excited for the prospects the coming year offers, I feel so lucky to be starting it off with a new spurt of creativity and motivation. I wish to share things that I am working on, ideas and projects I hope to bring to life and offer to others.

Earlier in the week I shared little snippets of patterns I have created, something I am so thrilled about. I have found a place that will print my patterns onto fabrics and wallpapers! I have samples on order to see how they turn out, depending on how I like them I hope to offer some new textile goods in my Etsy store before too long. I am unsure if it will just be yardage or if I will be offering toss pillows or other goods but this is a beginning of something exciting. I am creating things inspired by my trip to Thailand, I have patterns (not yet shared) that have been living in my head for months that I finally feel ready to commit to paper, stay tuned because I think these are gonna be good!

Along these same lines, I have found an amazing company that will print my art and it looks good. I am excited to have listed three prints of images that were in my calendar on my Etsy page that I had ordered to test this company out. They do something called Giclee (a type of ink jet printing for art and photographs) to make beautiful prints! I have already created a new piece that I have ordered some small prints of that should be here in a few weeks to add to my shop! I am testing the waters here and hope to receive some good traction on these, selling art is something very new to me that I am still getting the hang of, I hope to find success here this year.

I have also had to push myself to be more active on social media, this is something I do not particularly enjoy but know is so important. If you don’t follow me on Instagram, help a girl out and please follow! It is very helpful to not only gain followers but to get some feedback. Any bit helps! I have recently launched a business Pinterest account to share my art along with some inspiration. I hope to show not only my art but where it comes from during this process. Navigating the social media world is something I have never loved but am learning to enjoy it more by learning more about it; from website creation to instagram curation I don’t really know what I am doing and appreciate any and all support more than I can even say! (Sorry for the shameless plugs).

In closing, I am hopeful for this new year and hope to provide something great to all those who are interested! Please share feedback, ideas, requests or anything else you have to offer to help this party of one out as I tackle this new career filled with hope.

Thank you & Happy New Year!
