26.

Yesterday I turned 26. I love my birthday and always have and my 26th birthday was no different. I began the day sort of lazily and piddled around my apartment and went and got my free birthday Starbucks drink. I was planning to call my grandmother but she beat me to it, I am quite lucky and get to share my birthday with her. After chatting for a bit we got off the phone and I got to work.

I painted. I painted something I’ve been thinking about since the beginning of September. I created a spot I would like to visit, a little hut in a jungle somewhere. It’s surrounded by leaves and bamboo. Next to it I have painted a white elephant in a nice little outfit. This group of things will be turned into another pattern that I envisioned months ago. I have some big plans for this set and can’t wait to share more.

While painting yesterday I realized something, it felt so right. Beginning this next trip around the sun by painting something that felt the most right painting has felt for me in a log time, that’s something that excites me. I unleashed creativity that has been dormant and it’s not gonna stop here. I’m oh so excited for this next year of life.

I’m writing to you from a train on my way into NYC, I’m celebrating my birthday with my boyfriend, sister and a few friends. Here’s to more days of creativity that feel this right and finding inspiration in the world around me.
