While You Were Out

This year I decided to pull a “while you were out” on a bathroom in my childhood home. My mom and step father have not done anything to it since we moved in 15 years ago so as an early Christmas gift I poured a little TLC into the space.

The Before:

I was in such a hurry to get to work before they came home I forgot to take a before photo. Here you can see glimpses of the “before.” You can see a bit of the original vanity color as well as the blue countertop. The walls were an antique white and there had been teal trim…yikes! Non of it was the choice of my family and I did my best to make it work as well as blend with the rest of the house!

The After:

So if you ask me there is a big improvement! The darker, more contemporary color on the vanity makes it stand out more, the brighter walls really make it more welcoming, the light green trim adding contrast to the walls but remaining neutral. I used contact paper to cover the blue counter and painted the switch plates. I finished it off with the PERFECT rug to tie it all together! With some new hand towels, curtains to cover showers that are out of use, baskets along with the rug to cover the tile designs. I am pretty happy with how it turned out and hope I sparked some excitement for them to do more!
