My Calendar

So this year I made my first calendar and I love how it came together! I was inspired by the “bird’s eye” view looking down at items that remind me of the different months. Take a Look at the art below!

The Cover

The cover of my 2020 calendar incorporates elements from each month around my logo. I think its the perfect beginning to a year I’m excited for!

January

My favorite month, the month of birth, a month full of cold and snow and new beginnings. I chose eucalyptus for this month because to me is is fresh, simple and a lovely slate to build the year on.

5-April.jpg

April

Daisies for my momma, her favorite flower for her birth month! Painting these was so fun but a background was necessary, white flowers on a white background are a bit hard to see!

6-May.jpg

May

This little garden of succulents and cacti began as June but shifted to May, this scape is potted plants because its May and the flowers aren’t always ready to be outside! Please enjoy this image so you can see all the details!

July

July, the month of my favorite holiday and the month of my best friends birth! I was chatting with her to see what she saw for her birth month and she said “watermelon.” So here we are, the month of cookouts, beach trips and celebrating America illustrated with some delicious watermelon, the thing that goes with it all!

11-October.jpg

October

The first month I illustrated, inspired and painted to the tune of my favorite podcast, My Favorite Murder. Gotta love some squad gourds for the month of ~Spooky Halloween~

12-November.jpg

November

In the design for November I considered many things, cornucopias, other gourds, naked trees and pine cones. The month that gave me my sister and my boyfriend, what was good enough for them?? Then it hit me…SHINY! Shiny was my favorite acorn I found in the woods around my house as a small child that was later returned to the forest by my lovely sister leaving me devastated. So here’s to you Shiny, a sea of Shinys as a memorial for the OG. RIP Shiny, hope you became a tree.
